The Scrimba Bootcamp recently introduced group projects!
We're excited to share that our students have been hard at work building some fantastic projects, including a Salesboard app and a Mobile Ordering app. As we continue to roll out more projects, we want to remind our students that they can always request to make any project a group project in the meantime.
Hereβs how group projects help students level up and prepare for real-world projects:
β Gain experience collaborating on projects using Git and GitHub
β Work on different aspects of an app with a small group
β Develop valuable communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
β Create issues, branches, and pull requests that you review, just like on actual dev teams
β Get thorough reviews of your projects from our team of experienced code reviewers
You can learn more about the bootcamp here.

Sejo landed their first frontend job after transitioning from print and design without a college degree. They applied for jobs daily, built their Github portfolio, and persevered through setbacks. Sejo credits their success to the Scrimba front-end path and plans to further their knowledge through the UI design path.
Sejoβs story is inspiring to those who doubt their ability to break into the tech industry. They prove that with determination, hard work, and a commitment to learning, itβs possible to achieve oneβs goals and pursue a fulfilling career in tech, even without a traditional college degree!

Dmitry has built a React-based contact book that allows users to dynamically search through existing contacts, add new ones, and remove those that are no longer needed! They are considering implementing a local storage feature to make the app even more useful.
Dmitryβs skills in developing a dynamic and functional React-based app like a contact book are impressive! This project requires a solid understanding of the framework and some complex programming concepts, which Dmitry has clearly mastered. The addition of a local storage feature shows their attention to detail and dedication to improving the user experience. Itβs clear that Dmitryβs hard work and commitment to learning have paid off, and they are well on their way to becoming a talented developer.
Check out the live deployment here.
What have you built this week? Share it with us in the π·i-built-this channel!

Meet Lane Wagner us! Lane is an engineering manager and the founder of Boot.dev.
βIn this episode, as an experienced leader and educator, Lane talks about the recent changes in the job market and what they mean for aspiring and established developers alike. With tech layoffs and Al that can write code, how do you even stand out?
Lane and Alex discuss the future of the industry as well as the ongoing recession and why it seems to hit tech companies especially hard. Youβll learn whatβs the main difference between a developer and an Al that can write code and how to focus on it. They also talk about different types of companies, how different paths require different strategies to break into tech, and why itβs okay to change companies as thatβs the quickest way to learn and figure out what works for you..
